Hey, I’m Mike. I’m a Full Stack Software Developer currently working at EY Canada. I’ve worked full time at small and medium sized design agencies with both startups and enterprise clients. Over the years I’ve built a lot of marketing sites and e-commerce stores but these days I’m primarily focused on product development using technologies like React, Node, Express, MongoDB and Postgres.

I have a background primarily in front end web development, so I pay close attention to usability, performance and interaction, as well as UI design - typography, color theory, grid systems and information architecture.

I've built REST APIs and more recently I've been exploring GraphQL and the Apollo client. I also have experience writing unit tests (Jest, React Testing Library) and end-to-end tests using Cypress.

Some of the bigger clients I have done work for include Bell Canada, Rogers, Spotify, ING Canada, The Discovery Channel, The Comedy Network, RBC, MSN, and Bacardi.

I am currently focused on learning TypeScript, keeping up to date with React frameworks, sharpening my ES6 syntax, and exploring various browser APIs.
