You've caught me mid development. I'm working on the site, so if you see something missing or broken, that's why.

About the Client

Bell is Canada's largest communications network, offering local, long distance and wireless telephone service, internet, and satellite. Their Let's Talk campaign is a wide-reaching, multi-year program designed to break the silence around mental illness and support mental health all across Canada.

Bell Let’s Talk was a project I wanted to be a part of. It was a good cause and a high profile campaign. I am proud to say that I worked on both sites in 2012 and 2013, spearheading a lot of the front end development.

* The time spent on the project indicated above is the time it took to launch the project. Some projects are ongoing and some aren't. The time is generally accurate but in most cases it isn't exact. Most freelance projects were completed in the evenings and on weekends and most often not consecutively.

What Was Learned

To be frank, it wasn't an easy project to work on. Not technically, but practically. The revision phases were frustrating, as was the speed at we were working, and I think both our project manager and myself had a pretty tough time working through a lot of the requests. Of course, this is part of the process at a digital agency, and just doing work at this scale. We eventually got through it (after a few too many late nights) and the projects were consistently delivered on time, leading to two very successful campaigns for Bell.

What Went Well

Bell Let's Talk has been successful in raising large amounts of money for CAMH and raising awareness among Canadians about the signs of and resources available for those suffering from mental illness.
