I’m so impressed by these guys. They are bringing the eighties right back. I don’t think anyone is doing this kind of thing these days, or at least not as well as they are, especially in Hamilton, which is where they are from. The percussion and vocals are really what make it. I can’t help but think of artists like Duran Duran, Tears for Fears and Pet Shop Boys. I think what impresses me most is how authentic it sounds. It isn’t as if these guys have taken the 80′s sound and integrated it into modern day rock music (add a synthesizer and you have an instant indie band – that sort of thing). They shouldn’t be praised for originality or even creativity just yet at least, but the execution is there and it’s flawless. I’m very happy to see a resurgence in this kind of sound. I think these guys show very promising potential.
