Inspired by the 2010 Communication Arts Advertising Annual 50 I decided it would be a good idea to get some practice in. I made myself a design exercise by going on stock photography websites, taking several photos that appealed to me from several, random and vague search results, and tried to quickly put together an advertisement for any brand that came to mind. I gave myself about a half hour and admittedly, many details such as font family, sizing, and textures were not made certain. This of course was part of the exercise. Overall I felt this experience was a nice way of keeping active using design software but more importantly, generating clever ideas under pressure and constraints.
