This is an identity I submitted to http://citid.net - a showcase of typographic logos that graphic designers all over the world have submitted to put their city on the map.
“CitID is an ambitious project aiming to gain global consciousness by giving a (type)face to every city worldwide; big or small, rich or poor, famous or infamous, well-known or unheard-of.”
I was inspired by the diversity of our cultural “mosaic” and the original font used by our Toronto Transit Committee (TTC) in 1954. The original designer remains a mystery but thankfully David Vereschagin at Quadrat Communications was able to create a replica based on old sketches and documentation.

This is an alternate design I made taking a different approach. This one was inspired by our iconic CN Tower, the Rogers Centre (formerly known as the SkyDome) and our beautiful harbour.

Borrowing its moniker from the female deities in Norse mythology, Valkyre Records formed with the specific purpose of giving a legitimate voice to like-minded artists spanning a wide cross section of genres and styles. A symbolism not lost on some, Valkyre makes a conscious effort to ignore the dominant trends in the music industry in favour of promoting art that is original, exploratory in nature and genuinely honest.
As an independent label based out of southern Ontario, Valkyre Records supports the DIY work ethic, genuine creativity and above all the fierce pursuit of true musical interchange. Featuring sounds that are ambient, soundscape-influenced, psychedelic, and instrumental in narrative, they strive to bring new music to a wider audience while still engaging the listener on a deeply personal level.

This is a logo I made for my program Media Information Technolculture at The University of Western. It was printed on reusable grocery bags and given out as a farewell gift to graduates.
